Marriage is life changing. It requires two people to combine two different lives into one shared journey. Warren Buffet describes marriage as the most important decision a person can make, calling it the ultimate partnership. After the initial excitement of the engagement, planning begins. For some couples, the planning process will be the beginning of their mutual decision making. This alone can be a stressful time for the newly engaged couple as the who, what, when, where and why start to present themselves. The most pressing, generally after when is answered, is where? Deciding where presents a set of questions itself. How’s the weather, how many people can the venue hold, outside or inside. These questions, start a whole new journey, placing the couple in the position to begin envisioning their big day!
Destination weddings have become very popular and trendy over the course of time. It allows the couple to have their wedding and normally reception away from home. Usually, the bridal party spends time together doing activities, helping, and encouraging the couple before the big day. BriJoRae' Pusch-Zuniga, owner of BriJoRae' Productions said “Journeying to a place you’ve never been with the person you love is magical. The newness of it all is symbolic of your new life together. For us, it was the atmosphere, mountains and waterfalls- they were all so breathtaking!” Bri and her husband Entyse, who live in Kansas but were married in the mountains of Seattle, Washington, took their entire bridal party hiking, before and after their wedding. They planned activities, lodged together, and explored together during their time spent.
“As a Kansas resident you don’t have to go far to experience the beauty God’s creation offers.” – BriJoRae' Pusch-Zuniga.
While planning her styled shoot for Kansas Weddings, BriJoRae' stumbled upon one of Kansas' best kept secrets! Kanopolis State Park is a beautiful and inexpensive place to enjoy nature and capitalize on the natural beauty Kansas offers. The peaceful lake and open skies where you may catch wild eagles, are the perfect backdrop for a Kansas wedding. There is plenty of room for lodging in their charming cabins, while more rustic campgrounds and RV parking are also available. Kanopolis State Park even has horse lodging! Activities such as Kayaking, fishing, and hiking are among things to do during your stay. And a tip from BriJoRae', "Put an agenda together so everything runs smoothly- perfect for no extra stress is added during your relaxation."
What if big wedding planning isn’t in the cards for a couple? Maybe they prefer to keep it intimate and simple. Eloping may be the best decision a couple can make. It may take the stress of fine tuning details off the couple and allow them to intimately focus on one another in the presence of close family and friends. Cori Lane Brown, a future Kansas bride, says “Eloping is a financially sensible choice that allows for an intimate party to enjoy what matters most”. Need assistance with your elopement plans?
